Following stories that a third of hospital trusts in England issued alerts warning they needed urgent action to cope with the pressure of patient numbers last month, Kyle Taylor, Director of Smart Brexit, said:
“The government urgently need to guarantee full funding for the NHS as part of their Brexit plan. The economy is doing well and there will be £150 million a week coming back to the UK once we leave the EU meaning there is no good reason the NHS has to keep scrabbling down the back of the sofa for a bit of extra money. When the Prime Minister outlines her Brexit plan before negotiations begin in 12 weeks, a fully funded NHS should be top of the list.”
